Alphagan (Generic)

BRIMONIDINE helps to reduce pressure in the eye for patients with increased pressure or open-angle glaucoma.

Wash hands before and after use. Tilt the head back slightly and pull down the lower lid with the index finger to form a pouch. Try not to touch the tip of the dropper to your eye or any other surface. Squeeze one drop into the pouch. Close the eye gently; do not blink or rub your eyes. Apply pressure to the inside cornor of your eye for a few minutes after placing the medicine to help it stay in your eye longer. Use your doses at regular intervals.

Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible:
Very rare are instances of
•inflamed or infected eyes or eyelids
•bleeding in your eye

•medicines that cause drowsiness or tiredness - brimonidine may increase these effects
•medicines for high blood pressure or other heart problems - brimonidine may have additional effects.

Check before stopping or starting any of your medications.

Stop using brimonidine if your eyes get inflamed, painful, or have a discharge.
Do not use eye cups.
Brimonidine may cause drowsiness or tiredness. Be careful driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Wear dark glasses, as this medicine makes your eyes more sensitive to light.
Visit your prescriber or health care professional for regular checks on your progress. Report any serious side effects promptly.

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses

Keep out of the reach of children.

Store at room temperature less than 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
