Combivir (Generic)

Combivir is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI). It prevents HIV from altering the Genetic material of healthy T-cells.

It is very important that you take this medicine exactly as instructed by your health care professional. Take tablets by mouth swallowing with a drink of water.

Side effects should be reported to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible:

Headache
Upset stomach
Diarrhea
constipation
Loss of appetite
Nausea, Vomiting
Pain, Tingling, or Numbness in the hands or feet
Shortness of breath
Unusual bleeding or bruising
Unusual tiredness or weakness

Inform your health care professional or harmacist about any allergies that you might have.

If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.

Lamivudine & Zidovudine may stop your body from making enough blood cells.
Inform your doctor if you have ever had kidney diseases.
Combivir will not cure HIV infection.
Keep all appointments with your doctor.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

Combivir is an anti-HIV medication which prevents the cells from producing new virus and decreases the amount of virus in the body.

Store between 2[0] and 30 degrees C (36[0] and 86 degrees F).

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding. It is best to avoid sexual contact or use a condom. Never share a needle with anyone.
