Lovenox (Generic)

Important : Inform your doctor if you are taking any anti coagulants such as Agrylin, ReoPro,Warfarin, NSAIDs such as Pletal, Plavix, Ibuprofen, Integrelin, Aggrastat. If you have epidural or spinal anesthesia/puncture, whilst taking such a medicine as Enoxaparin, it could cause you to become paralysed. Speak with your doctor about the risks of taking this medicine. If you experience leg weakness, numbness, paralysis, tingling, and loss of control over your bladder or bowels, inform your doctor immediately.

Enoxaparin though an anti coagulant is sometimes referred to as a blood thinner. Belonging to a class of medicines known as Low Molecular Weight Heparins, that work by stopping the formation of substances that are responsible for clotting.

Special care may be needed regarding the use of this medicine in children. Contact your pediatrician for more information.

Consult your physician on how to inject yourself, or take a family member along to so they may be trained in how to do the same. Use exactly as directed by your physician. Do not rub the injection site after you take the shot. Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

Fever
Diahearra
Nosebleeds
Tarry/Bloody stool
Breathing Difficulties
Unusual bleeding/bruising
Swelling of the feet/ankles
Heavy bleeding during menstruation
Blood in the urine/Coughing up of blood
Redness/Burning/Irritation at the site of injection

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

NSAIDs
Asprin
Blood thinners
Asprin like medicines
Any other anti coagulants
Omega 3 fatty acid supplements
Any herbal products that contain garlic, ginger, gingko, feverfew, horse chestnut

Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Bleeding disorders
Brain tumour/aneurysm
Breast Feeding
Delivery of a baby
Diabetes
Haemorrhage / Haemophilia
High blood pressure/Stroke
Inefficient kidney function
Infection of the heart in part or whole
Liver disease
Ongoing cancer treatments
Prosthetic heart valve
Receiving any kind of injections
Recent surgery
Ulcers/other bowel disease

Do not double dose to make up for a missed shot. Take the next shot as scheduled. Try not to miss any shots.

Enoxaparin: is used in the treatment of existing blood clots in the lungs or veins. It is also commonly used in the prevention of blood clots after an abdominal, knee or hip surgery.

Store at room temperature below 25 degrees C. Do not freeze. If these injections are specially prepared for you; you may need to refrigerate them. Consult your pharmacist or health care professional for more information.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.

Inform your health care professional if you suffer from any allergies of any kind, pork and/or pork products.

If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

In case of any emergency carry some identification stating your condition, name of medication & health care professional & contact number for the same.
