|  | Metrogel Cream DescriptionMetrogel Generic Metronidazole, Metrogel 30gm tube, is a synthetic drug used effectively to fight anaerobic bacterial infections and those caused by certain parasites [protozoa]. Rosacea is a skin condition which is often mistaken for acne; it presents itself in the form of a red and oily skin with pimples, pustules and papules that occur on the cheeks, chin, nose, forehead, neck and chest. Generic Metronidazole clears this skin infection.
A single gram of Metrogel contains 10mg Metronidazole, in a base of betadex, edetate disodium, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methylparaben, propylparaben, propylene glycol, phenozyethanol, niacinamide and purified water. |

|  | How to Use Metrogel CreamMetrogel Cream is normally applied once or twice daily – as prescribed by your physician. Before using it, clean the affected area with a light cleaning lotion, wipe it clean with moist cotton or tissue, wash your face thoroughly, then apply a thin layer of gel, keeping it away from your eyes, nostrils, and mouth. Gently rub in the medicine so that it is properly spread. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after making the application.
Let the gel dry, and wait for 10 minutes or so, before applying any foundation / moisturizer / blush-on. |

- Metrogel Precautions: Before starting treatment with Generic Metronidazole give your medical history to the dermatologist, telling the doctor about all medicines – prescription and OTC [including all nutritional supplements / vitamins / minerals / herbal products] you are taking. In particular, let your physician know if you have any allergies [if you are allergic to any food and/or medicine], and if you are anemic.
- Let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to have a baby, or lactating.
- It can take around 8-10 weeks before one sees the full benefits of using this gel. However, if there is no improvement after 3 weeks, contact your dermatologist.
- The gel is for external use only, if it gets into your eyes, immediately wash your hands and then wash your eyes with plenty of water. If the irritation persists, call your doctor.
- Do not use the same pledget twice for applying the gel.
- Do not keep any leftover gel for future use. Check with your pharmacist regarding safe disposal methods.
- Wash your face with a mild soap and water, but it is recommended that you do not wash your face more than 2-3 times a day. Otherwise the pimples can burst, drive the bacteria into the pores and spread the infection further.
- It is recommended that this gel should be used by children only under medical supervision.
- Do not use skin care products that dry out the skin completely, or those that contain alcohol, topical retinoids, triclosan, acne/chemical peels, alpha hydroxy acid, benzoyl peroxide, as well as toners, astringents, and topical exfoliants.
- Never share your medicine with anyone else.
