Antifungal » Ketoconazole (kee-toe-KOE-na-zole) Oral

Ketoconazole may cause liver damage. Inform your doctor if you drink alcohol in large or small amounts. Inform your doctor about any and all medication you maybe taking in any form.

Inform your doctor if you have/have ever had liver disease.

Do Not Take Cisapride, Terfenadine or Astemizole whilst on a course with this medication.

This tablet is swallowed whole with a glass of water. Consult your health care professional for exact dosages and take as directed.

Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

Itching
Nausea
Skin rash
Vomiting
Stomach pain
Loss of appetite
Drowsiness/dizziness
Yellowing of eyes/skin
Dark yellow/brown urine
Breast swelling and/or tenderness
Increased sensitivity to light (eyes)
Sexual difficulties (impotence - in men)
Redness/blistering/peeling/loosening of the skin (including inside the mouth)

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Rifampin
Pimozide
Quinidine
Phenytoin
Astemizole
Paricalcitol
Ergotamine
Terfenadine
Tolbutamide
Pioglitazone
Cyclosporine
Methysergide
Didanosine (ddI)
Doxercalciferol
Dihydroergotamine
Medication for sleeping difficulty
Medication for lowering cholesterol
Other fungal/yeast infection medication
Hormones (like prednisone or cortisone)
Medication for anxiety or difficulty sleeping
Medication for Parkinson's disease/gastrointestinal problems
Medication for stomach ulcers and/or other stomach problem(s)

Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages.

Do not treat yourself with OTC medication whilst n a course with this medication, without consulting with your health care professional.

If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Ketoconazole : an antifungal medicine is used to retard the growth of infection causing fungi.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Store at room temperature between 59 - 86 degrees F (15 - 30 degrees C) away from heat and moisture.

Alcohol abuse problem
Achlorhydria/Hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid production)
