Renova Cream Description

Renova Cream or Retin-A are the best brands of Tretinoin, a potent chemical that is a derivative of Vitamin A, effective in treating wrinkles, mottled coloring, and rough or sun-damaged skin. Generally Renova Generic Tretinoin Cream is used for Acne treatments and certain Skin Disorder. Renova was approved in 1996 by the FDA to treat sun-related problems. Renova Cream is also called Acne Cream.

Tretinoin sets off molecules [called retinoid receptors] in the skin cells that cause certain intracellular processes to take place, including synthesis of proteins [such as collagen and elastin], cell growth and differentiation, and production of the fatty lubricant by the sebaceous glands of the skin.

Renove cream is available in the form of 20mg and 15mg tubes.

Renova Cream / Retin-A Uses

Tretinoin generic for renova induces synthesis of proteins to take place in the cells, and also inhibits the matrix metalloproteinases [MMP] enzymes from breaking down collagen and elastin, which are the key structural proteins of the skin. The chemical compound of Renova and Retin-A works on the rough or wrinkled skin by making it shed its dead, outer layer while stimulating the skin to produce fresh cells at a faster pace. It also stimulates the production of collagen, which gives a more youthful appearance to the skin by smoothing away the fine wrinkles. Tretinoin also helps in the reduction of skin pigmentation in those people who acquire a mottled, colored or sun-damaged skin, by lightening age spots.

While it does not erase wrinkles, Renova and Retin-A helps a person to look younger, and gain a healthy complexion.

How to Use Renova Cream

Renova retin a cream should be preferably applied each night. Wash the face thoroughly, pat it dry, wait for about 20-30 minutes, then take a tiny drop of the cream/gel and apply it evenly on your face. Do not let it enter the eyes, nostrils, mouth and any open wound. Wash you hands thoroughly after each application.

Renova Retinol cream has proved to be more effective around the eyes and on the cheeks, than on the lower portion of the face.

If your skin becomes too dry, you could use another emollient [like petroleum jelly] during the day. Do not apply more than once in a day, nor increase the amount to be applied, for an oversaturation can irritate your skin.

Do not get discouraged if there is no immediate improvement or if new blemishes appear; it can take 2-3 weeks for the gel/cream to take effect, and nearly a couple of months before consistent beneficial effects appear.

Renova Cream Side Effects

An unusual darkening of the skin may occur with repeated application of Renova Retin. Side effects of Renova gel or cream are generally not severe and can include:-

Burning or stinging sensation in the skin

Dry skin

Itching

Mild peeling of the skin

Mild redness of the skin

If the application of Renova cream causes a severe darkening or lightening of the treated areas, severe burning / swelling / irritation/ peeling of the skin, or any other unusual symptoms occur, you should contact your doctor immediately, who may advise you to use Renova medication less frequently, suspend it temporarily, or stop using this product altogether.

Renova Cream Interactions

Resorcinol [a drug used to treat acne, that makes the skin peel]

Preparations containing Benzoyl peroxide.


	Renova-Retin-A Overdose Renova Gel / Cream is not meant for oral use – it can be harmful if swallowed. Symptoms of a severe chemical reaction may include excessive redness, peeling of the skin, and discomfort.

	Renova Cream Missed Dose If you forget to apply the Renova Retin-A gel / cream one evening/night, follow your regular schedule the next evening/night. Renova-Retin-A Precautions

Inform the dermatologist / physician about your medical history, and all the medications you have been taking. In particular, you must mention to your doctor, if you have ever had Eczema, any allergy [particularly to Vitamin A or any other medicines-foods-dyes-preservatives], or if you are sensitive to the sun.

Renova cream or Renova Gel can increase sensitivity to sunlight, wind and cold. Wear protective clothing, use an effective sunscreen, and avoid prolonged exposure to sun or sunlamps.

Wash your face with a mild soap; but do not wash your face frequently, only twice/thrice a day.

Do not increase the application – excessive amounts of the Renova gel / cream will only irritate your skin.

The side effects of Renova gel / cream are not known during pregnancy, and it is not recommended to be used by pregnant women or nursing mothers, but you can check with your doctor.

Inform the doctor if you drink alcohol, smoke, or take any banned drugs, as some of the items you take could interfere with this product; the doctor can then decide whether this gel/cream can be used by you, and prescribe it accordingly.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Do not let anyone else use your medicine. If your gel / cream is no longer in use or is outdated, discard it after checking with your doctor.
