Anti-Convulsant » Carbamazepine (kar ba maz e peen)

This is an anti seizure medication.

Consult a pediatrician for the use of this medication in children.

This medication is usually taken with meals. It is to be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Consult your doctor on how to take this medicine and take exactly as directed.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

Rash/Mouth Sores
Unusual Bruising/Bleeding
Fever
Chills
Sore Throat
Purple spots on the skin
Confusion/Depression
Suicidal Thoughts
Chest Pain
Yellowing of the Skin or Eyes
Vision Difficulties
Nausea
Drowsiness
Anxiety

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medication in any other form for any condition especially if taking medication for a similar condition.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Do not drink grapefruit juice whilst taking this medication. Consult your doctor for more information.

This medication may decrease the blood cell production in your body to an extent so as to cause serious or life threatening health issues. Inform your doctor if you have decreased number of blood cells as a result of taking any other medication.


Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to concieve.

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.

This medication is used to treat epilepsy related siezures, trigeminal neuralgia, bipolar disorder.

Store at room temperature below 30 degrees C (86 degrees F).

Seizures
Any Heart Condition
Diabetes
Glaucoma
Kidney/Liver Disease(s)
Psychosis

Consult your doctor on what contraception to use whilst on a course with this medication.

If you concieve whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
