Didanosine is a reverse transcriptase inhibitor i.e. it inhibits the reproduction of HIV in the body.

Take exactly as explained by your doctor with a full glass of water on an empty stomach half an hour before or 2 hours after your meal. HIV/AIDS treatment requires taking 2 or more drugs together, if you need to stop taking any one stop them all and ask your health care professional for more information unless as otherwise advised.

Ask your doctor about the use of this medicine for chidren, special care maybe needed.

Inflammation of the pancreas (symptoms = nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain ), inform your doctor immediately.
Any Allergic reaction,
Vision changes,
Nerve/liver damage,
Palpatations of the heart,
Fever or chills or any other unusal side effects which are persistent, inform your doctor about the same, immediately.

Inform your doctor if you have any drug allergies and if you are taking any other medication in any other form.

Inform your doctor if you have diseases or conditions of the
kidney/liver/pancreas, are pregnant ot trying to concieve and if you are breat feeding.

If you do miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Didanosine used to treat the HIV, it is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.

Store at room temperature between 15—30 degrees C (59—86 degrees F).

Avoid alcohol in any form. Keep all your laboratory and doctors appointments. Avoid sexual contact and do not treat yourself for any conditions. Be careful about any other form of blood contact and do not share needles or syringes with anyone.
